It makes a big difference - for all parties involved - if someone makes a choice to do the nicer act. The person receiving the kindness gets a necessary boost for the day, and really, the person doing the kindness is equally affected. It sounds selfish, but really, who doesn't feel good about making another person's day better? (Ok, we do live in a selfish culture, so selling selfish bonuses works...) And for those of us who aren't selfish, it is still a win-win situation. Why shouldn't we all strive for that? Great post! Such a true post!

I don't think he had any inclination to help though. His time was far too valuable.
